    Surprisingly, Wikipedia says she is Shia Muslim, citing sources. Though apparently her family is pretty secular.

    She is Lebanese origin. Some Lebanese are Christian, some are Sunni Muslim and some are Shia Muslim.

    Just going by her name, that is not the name of a Lebanese Christian (think Shannon Elizabeth).

    p.s. tons of articles (including from the hometown Detroit Free Press) on Google News confirming she is from a Shia Muslim family. She did go to Catholic school which may be why people are confused.

    I'm quite sure most people here have never seen Lebanese television but I did once and it was so much more raunchy and provocative than anything you'd see on American Networks - EVER!

    They had a Miss Lebanon contest on at the time (coincidentally) and the girls all had huge prosthetic boobs and they walked around in the skimpiest of 2-piece bathing suits except that they wore these sheer things around the waste that let you still see everything but it looked almost like a short skirt. I'm guessing because it had something to do with the religious practices there. Very good looking women, too! :yumyum:

    Miss USA is a different thing than Miss America. Trump controls this one which basically started as a swimsuit competition I heard. Also the non-stripper competition shots I've seen she would be better than the average girl around.

    She was on Letterman last night and I've got to say I wasn't that impressed with her looks. I've seen far prettier Lebanese girls over the years and unless this girl was wearing a bikini I doubt she'd turn many heads as she walked past.
