    They MAKE us take all of our vacation days. And if for some reason we can't take them all, we can add them to those of the next year. We wouldn't get paid for them, due to all these rules and laws and regulations here....

    My grandfather did when he worked for the State of Vermont. He never took any vacation or sick time and at that time the state would just let it keep rolling over and accumulating. When he retired he had something like 3-1/2 years pay coming to him :?

    Move to Florida and your life will turn into a mini vacation! Here is a great website. You bid on the vacations and you can get them for sometimes $1 and then you just have to pay surcharges and sometimes airfare. It's better to bid on the 'package deals'.

    When I do take time off, I do the same thing, I try and make sure it's around long weekends to make them just a bit longer.

    Even if I wanted to, right now I couldn't afford to go away anywhere for a week
