    Meme, how do you handle all the billion types of codecs? I like to make gifs and sometimes i just cannot get VirtualDub to recognize the damn files i'm trying to edit, then i have to go into media player classic and invidually grab screens and it's a pain...

    VDub isn't exactly set up to handle much.....there are actually different versions for handling DVD's, WMV files, etc. In some cases, there are plugins.

    Give me details on the files you are having problems with (now or in the future) and I can give specific help.

    You might have better luck extracting frames with another program...Image Grabber 2 does a passable job. Again...Tucows will have freeware if you get sick of VDub headaches.
