Sharingmatrix and Hotfile

closing the registration for new users for few days is a good idea

 

The game is changing bro. RS is making a major shift from file sharing to secured storage. I hate to say it but nobody cares what people want to download from, it's what the uploaders want to upload to.

 

I skip the videos that aren't rapidshare files. I guess if I see a majority of clips shifting to MU I might switch my membership to that one instead but don't much care for the hotfile or that other one yet

 

Lot of junk turning up since the switch, I realize the mods are doing their best too but I got a funky feeling that things are going a bit 'off the rails' in the Sexy Videos section.

 

Seems all of you didn't read RS new Policy yet.
Now they are charging to keep user's file with their rapids system.
who is here want to pay RS to keep their file as others are doing it in FREE.

Respectfully mefrite, that's not necessarily true. As uploaders, I think we all try to give the most reliable filehosters with the fastest speeds... I know I speak for more than one uploader that sharing stuff on the Sexy Videos section is sort of my way of giving back for all the times I've downloaded stuff here. So I try to give download links from free filehosts that most downloaders here are comfortable using... obviously, unless Rapidshare goes back to file sharing rather than this new direction, I'll be using Rapidshare a lot less.

That's where the majority of my uploads will be hosted from - Megaupload, with my secondary mirror link at Hotfile. I think the only problem that I see coming from MU will be more files being temporarily inaccessible - that happens from time-to-time with MU files, but as more files will be uploaded to MU overall because of the RS changes, expect more MU files being temporarily inaccessible (usually a refresh or two will undo that).

HA, that's an understatement, X-Spectre. I will say the "upload frenzy" has decreased quite a bit in the past few hours, so I think we should all give it a few days to see how all plays out. It is funny to see so many old inactive members who haven't posted in a year or more suddenly "magically" posting a dozen or more threads with the new HF/SM change. Well, funny in a sad way. :no:

 

I personally have Rapidshare, Sharingmatrix, and Depositfiles accounts, and Sharingmatrix is the easiest to download from IMO, followed by Depositfiles.

Further to my last post I've had a chance to look at my "new & improved" RS account and, from what I can tell, I have 70 days worth of free hosting & downloading left before I have to buy more "Rapids".

I have a fair number of rapidpoints built up but I can't immediately see any way of converting them into "Rapids" which, to my mind, would be a pretty bloody obvious thing to want to do.

So that's pretty much made my mind up for me and I'm going to move to MU.

I'm also going to stop posting new stuff on here for a while - at least until the current deluge of new posts dies down. I'd never criticise anyone for taking the time and trouble to post but, come on people, phun has always been about quality over quantity...

 

IMHO SM is great for uploaders but very slow at download for free users. For me Hotfile is the best at the moment.

 

SM is a cash poster driven model. Anybody and everybody who wants to make $0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 per download is spamming in very forum but phun. All the sudden everybody is a foot fetishist or into bondage. I don't see HF as pervasive as SM. SM I essentially see as the death of the internet. For instance, if you haven't dld from SM for a day, you still need to wait 10 minutes; then with multiple files you need to wait 45 minutes between dlds. Also as the weeks go by, SW will begin to restrict the point taking from 400 MB per file, closer to 100 MB per file. When that happens the $%^&*( will hit the fan.

I'm with giving rapidshare a chance with this format. It sucks for those who don't have points accumulated, but it's still an easy way to upload for those who do, and I'm hoping most uploaders have points stored up.

This sharingmatrix flood is a bit annoying. I can't judge, except for the fact that it's extremely slow. I usually stack rapidshare downloads in Flashget, so it's still my choice for best download site.

 

So if anyone has trouble accessing any of my Rapidshare links or trouble downloading from Rapidshare, would be interested to hear about it, especially from a free user.

 

I have only one Premium Account, on RS. Stuff on other hosters must be downloaded via Free Download.
I for myself hate filehosters using Re-Captchas.
Since I'm working with a download manager which passes normal Captchas automatically, you have to type in the Captcha code manually for hosters using Re-Captcha. That's why you cannot download files over night or when off the pc.
I don't like:
Mediafire, Hotfile, Freakshare, Filefactory...
It's pretty tiring when you have to download 10+ files from Hotfile.

Megaupload is the best choice to please Free Downloaders at the moment.
High speed. Little waiting time. Huge free download traffic per day.

To say something about the topic...
You have to ask yourself: Do you (phun) want to attract uploaders doing it only for the money to earn? If not, you needn't allow several hosters. It's the question of 'Quality or Quantity?'.

Now, RS is to be considered the most honorable choice for one uploader since you don't have any benefits from uploading.

 

Regarding Sharingmatrix and Hotfile Poster Rules i suggest:
-File has to be at least 50mb-100mb
-The Poster has to be a active member of phun for 3-5 Months
-Only 10 Threads per day

 

Well, sometime in the last two days I have managed to inherit the Windows Defender virus from one of these sites. Not sure if it was Sharingmatrix, depositfiles, or hotfile. I will be avoiding anything but rapidshare and megaupload.... Be careful out there

 

I dont like and will not use SM or HF , especially HF , but i do appreciate the uploads from any member , i would just like to see a tag added to topics for all that mentions the file host site ie: ''something about bla - sexy bla (RS,SM,HF) etc, pretty sure there are available scripts for vBulletin.

Nothing worse than seeing a topic that takes your interest either by performer or fetish or just sexy big boobed redhead must see thread , than love the screen shots and notice its not on a host you like

 

lol. yeah let inside the cash hoster like SM and we can all sing together the phun .org's funerary-hymn soon. this board will be quickly changes in a rubbish bin like so many other former good boards. no board rules can stop this money greedy spammer.

I agree with file size limits, however worth noting is that sharingmatrix (hotfile too?) have a 400MB download cap...you have to pay to download files larger than that.

MOD EDIT: Actually, I think the the limits are:

HF - free users can D/L up to a 2GB (2,048mb) file
SM - free users can D/L up to a 1GB (1,024mb) file

Unless I missed something in their respective T&Cs...
