Sharingmatrix and Hotfile

In his defense, I have also paid 9 bucks to try out sharingmatrix and have found that the actual problem downloading a file stems with the poster. It seems like the problems I was having was the poster forgot the end of the link. ie the link didn't contain .html at the end of it. I have also see some links in the thread that didn't go to the end of the actual url. Like the blue clicky link stopped three quarters of the way so you have to copy and paste the whole thing into your browser window. Don't get me wrong, this is a stupid pain in the ass, but also points to the cash whores (to borrow a phrase) that are posting not so much sharingmatrix. And for the record, I will not be renewing my sharingmatrix account anyway, I just wanted to put a little more of the blame on the douches that dont know how to post.

 

I use downloadnow.net. Works great for me, it's a little limited but I've been able to download from many filehosts without a hitch even sharingmatrix

 

SM is good for uploaders and bad (i assume) for downloaders without a premium account. This being the case the ratio you have is normal as there has got to be 30x the amount of downloaders to uploaders on any forum I would guess. Downloaders have always wanted the easiest way to get free prons and they always will.

As for uploaders loosing downloaders I am not so sure about that - it may be partially true. If people could not download at all though it would not be worth it for uploaders to even bother sharing as they would not get $$$. It must be working for someone clearly.

I did not vote myself as I am a little torn - admin does need to do something - either ban SM or implement some strict rules and set up some separate categories. I lean towards the second option as I tend to side with the uploaders and other sites are doing ok with SM. Time will tell - I hope they do something sooner rather than later.

 

On another forum I visit (in one of their forum) they
require an uploader to use more than one file host.
So if someone wants to use sharingmatrix they have
to use another host. IE depositfile, rapidshare etc.
Why not try that here? I see some poster already doing this.

 

Maybe so, but think of how many people, like myself, aren't even bothering to click SM links any more because they never work for us. I've seen a lot of others having the same issues with SM as I have; I doubt I'm the only one who avoids its links like the plague now.

 

I can't even use SM anymore, I haven't download anything for a day and it says free user can only download 1 file at a time even when i m not downloading anything.

 

I have never been able to get a file from SM. It either comes in with a 'your ip has changed' message or keeps resetting the timer so you never get it. Ban it imo

 

I welcome Hotfile, Rapishare sucks and has slowed so much in 2010.

 

As much as I don't like the newly cash-whoring here on Phun, I've never had any problems downloading as free users from both SharingMatrix and Hotfile!

 

I have a premium account on SM and it works perfectly

Could never get it to work when I only had a free account.

Personally, I have more problems with HF - Premium account again, but Dls are terrible.

Lol. Depositfiles sucked when I wanted to upload 2 files, so I used SM instead of that next to Hotfile. It was 2 days ago. Here are the screenshots of the filenames and number of downloads (2 days).

So members either ignore SM links or they are REALLY unable to download almost anything.

I am annoyed that my Rapidshare Premium account now seems to be almost useless in this forum (since no-one seems to use Rapidshare any more). I was tempted to avoid clicking on Sharingmatrix due to all the negativity about it here. But now that I have tried it as a free user, it seems to me to be very good. Very fast. And only a 10 minute delay between downloads, no matter how large the last one was. I assume some people are having trouble with it due to their security settings, which sometimes happens to me with other file hosts. Sometimes people just have to accept change, no matter how annoying it is at first.

 

I paid for the Premium SM and it's fine to use, couldn't get it to work at all for free. Frankly, for 4.99 it's not the end of the world to pay for the service surely? If you want to enjoy loads of downloads that other people have invested their time to provide for you, then pay a small sum and get it. Not everything in life is free.

The only problem is trying to guess which horse to back, Mega, Rapid or SM. There's probably too much choice and it's unfair to expect the uploaders to cater for everybody.... possibly there's a strong case to choose two only.

 

I'm still trying to understand why Hotfile and Sharingmatrix were even allowed as host on this site in the first place... especially since they were both banned for years, and for a very, very good reasons.

So what if Rapidshare changed it's pricing policy? What difference did that make? It only changed Rapidshare's atractivness for uploaders but it should not have made any difference about other hosts. Did changes on Rapidshare removed all those reasons why HF and SM were banned for such a long time? Of course not... so why allow them in the first place?

For years, this was one of the best sites out there [if not #1]... now it's hardly in the top 50... if not top 100. Shame, really...

 

The hardcore cashcreep spammers must be seeing some bad juju from sharing matrix, many of them have switched to hotfile over the weekend. I think they are trying to collect their points or cash on the 15th and they are not getting anything, but their credit cards are still being billed.

I hope SM bills them forever and they never get paid after they go down in flames for ruining every forum I visit. Either that or they be fed live to wild dogs, either way, six of one, half dozen of the other.

It doesn't matter what filehost people use, there will always be people complaining.

 

i suggest tell users to mk a big thread for MMS or stop mms posting and ban that user as they are illigals.

 

Hotfile currently running at 1day plus estimate on downloads - won't be making that mistake again. Was quite happy with RS...

 

Sharingmatrix and Hotfile are not a good option
