She is clearly making a statement of some kind with the picture recreating the classic image,i am sure if she was as airbrushed in the now picture as she was in the then picture most on here would be drooling over the results,this time however she chose to be photographed minus the photoshopping.

The second picture isn't real,the first is,and i am sure that is what this is all about,not about looking good,but looking real,and in a world where magazines carry pictures of photoshopped perfect celebrities,it is brave that someone like Gail should do something like this and she should be applauded for it.

Ok, there, that's the sound of one of my hands clapping for her.

 

She's been through a heck of a lot in the past few years, going from the gorgeous, sexy pin-up that the media couldn't get enough of, to post-natal depression (attempted suicide), marriage break-up, complete hair loss, work completely drying up (except guest appearances to discuss being a "brave baldy").

Hair loss for any woman is deeply distressing, and particularly in Gail's case where, virtually overnight, she went from being one of Britain's top pin-ups to bald freak (and she really didn't look good bald) - and it seemed the baldness was going to be permament.

But she found a new partner and that happiness resulted in all her hair growing back. I suspect the joy she feels now outweighs any concerns she has about showing off her (probably above average for a 40 year old mother) backside. She probably got paid a few bob, too. But she no longer is the bald freak, so the relief must be immense - her nightmare is over, she has her life back.
