Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     Where I live, 8 mile road has only been a major road for 20 years or so. (It's always been there.) It runs probably 40-50 miles from east of Detroit, through Detroit and into the suburbs. Where I am it's safe as hell and pleasant. In Detroit you have to keep your eyes open open if you decide to walk on 8 mile. It's all businesses and bars, with housing behind the businesses. The housing area is where the Eminem "saga" takes place, even though he's really spent more time in a blue-collar suburb called Warren, north of 8 Mile and just east of Detroit.

    Much of the Detroit area is divided by "Mile Roads." For land and farming divisions, etc., when Detroit was formed. The names go from 5 Mile Road to 23 Mile road, with the other roads simply having different names, but still a mile apart. They are all east-to-west roads.
