During some maintanence last night (Friday, September 17, 2010) the site database didn't come back online. While trying to fix that, it turned out that the hard drive was actually failing - on more than one server.

The database problem is fairly easy to fix, as fortunately the site made use of replication - so hopefully no data is lost. However the main drive of one of the affected servers is so bad that the webserver software will no longer start.

The current plan is to resurrect the main website (www.imagehost.org) on one of the other servers ImageHost.org is hosted on. Unfortunately this will take some time.

Furthermore it may take some time before files on e.imagehost.org, f.imagehost.org and h.imagehost.org will come back online, as those files will have to be moved to another server and/or restored from backups (which with over 1 terabyte of data won't go so quickly).

In the mean while files on other image servers (a-d, g & i-j) will continue to work, hopefully.

My apologies for the downtime.

Update (Sunday, September 19, 2010):
As the server which hosted the main site & e-f+h image servers is old, I'm planning to replace it with a newer & faster server. Unfortunately servers are not setup during weekends, so the new server won't be ready until Monday (tomorrow) at the earliest convinience. Then it'll take a few more days to configure and restore files from the old server and/or backups (for those files located on the bad drive). This means that it may be not until Wednesday or Thursday before the site comes back online. Once again, sorry about the downtime.

Well i tryed lookpic i was uploading like around 50 pic and before it uploaded it it said FATAL ERROR, i was like lets try 2-3 at a time, it weorked but when i put the link in the forum it does not work

Ill try the links you gave me later on again, hopefuly they will be able to work

 

i've had a few problems with lookpic and then one day it was down and for sale. the next day it was up and kinda working again.

 

I have been using lookpic regulary as a backup for imagehost

 

Imagehost was reliable until now, so hopefuly they fix the problem fast
