Yeah, the only reason this can be considered scandalous is because people are, for some MIND BOGGLING reason, still afraid of cannabis. Or in this case, Salvia. Anyone who thinks salvia is dangerous has clearly never tried it. Same goes for weed.

I now find Miley Cyrus to be even more attractive than I used to. :)

  7. Dude, reality check - Miley's in showbiz. Drink, drugs and partying have been an intrinsic part of that industry since it began, Hollywood was created on the back of debauchery and hedonism. With a few exceptions, I doubt there's hardly anybody in the movie or music industry who hasn't got wasted at some point in their career.

If reactionary moral crusaders stopped sticking their heads in the sand and quit whipping up mock outrage, they might realise just how prevelant drug use was in modern society, and we're not talking addicts jacking up in dingy crack-houses we're talking everyday folk taking the occaissional recreational smoke or snort - I don't think I know anybody who I grew up with who hasn't at the very least smoked a joint at some time during their young adult years. And I don't know any of them who subsequently became addicts. As others have said here, some folks have addictive natures and are just as likely to get hooked on booze, gambling, video games whatever.

Those still banging on about her being a bad role model for young kids, I think it's been blatantly obvious for a while she's been attempting to distance herself from her perceived clean-cut Disney persona, she's no longer a kid, she's an adult now, and frankly is just doing what most normal young adults do at that age, experiment with what life has top offer and have a fucking good time. The only thing I find disappointing about her actions is I wish I was 20 years younger and was able to be there with her. ;)

    Your excuses make it right?

I have seen it time and time again. Not only with me, but friends and family members also.

The part of this quote I have highlighted is exactly how it starts. It's all about having a good time, right? Answer me one thing. What happens when your "good time" can't be fulfilled with weed anymore? What next? Coke? Meth? It's obvious from your post that you haven't reached that stage yet. I'll let you carry on with your ignorant views, but I will also hope that you never reach that point. I don't wish that on anybody.

Just my 2 cents... id just like to say that ive been enjoying marijuana regularly for the past 13 or so years, and i have NEVER come upon the occasion where weed didnt fulfill a good time haha. Those who use that excuse are looking for ANY excuse to experiment further, IMO. My family has a long line of addictive behaviour, and i know that i inherited that as well... but ive done some experimenting with Ecstasy and Mushrooms as well, and i had a great time! However, i also used common sense and logic at the same time. Experimentation with drugs does NOT lead you to addiction, reckless behaviour and ignorance does.

A drug user using terms like "common sense" and "logic." Brilliant! Where is the common sense and logic in screwing with your perception of reality?

I've just had about 7 or 8 pints and you could say my perception of reality is nicely screwed at this stage. What exactly is the moral difference between being drunk and stoned?

I wasn't expecting this from Miley but at the same time I kinda did

  20. OK, let's get one thing straight from the off here - I've looked back on your previous comments (in the Miley leaked pics thread) and the ones you've made here, and it's pretty obvious you're just trolling and trying to start arguments, so I've got your number before we begin. But to be fair let's have a look at your points in a rational manner.

"Your excuses make it right?" Wasn't aware I was making any excuses, I thought I was stating clear undeniable facts. Drink n' drug use and partying is an ingrained aspect of the showbiz lifestyle as it is in many walks of life from political leaders (Churchill was a drunk and amphetemine user), businessmen (Bill Gates has admitted to using LSD), artists (Van Gogh, Warhol etc, etc), authors (Stephen King, William Burroghs, Hunter S Thompson etc), actors and celebrities (take your pick from any number of Hollywood hellraisers) and of course the music industry itself which has had a symbiotic co-existence with narcotics since its inception from the old-time blues men through Elvis, Johnny Cash,The Beatles, The Stones, and just about any and every major rock band and worthwhile recording artist you care to mention.

Does that make it right? Well that's up to your own individual perception of what is right and wrong, but to come out with mock outrage as many have that Miley Cyrus could work in such an industry and the be aghast that she has partaken of its inherent guilty pleasures is simply living in denial and avoiding reality.

I think I already covered this in my last post, but no I don't happen to believe one hit from a bong leads directly to smoking crystal meth, such an assumption is the kind of puritanical reactionary scare-mongering spiel one would expect from the sensationilist right wing press. It never happened to me, it never happened to anybody I know. If that is your experience I would simply say that you have a pre-disposed ingrained addictive nature or were just too weak-willed to stop. To be brutally honest that's basic natural selection, the strong survive, the weak end up face down in the gutter.

I "haven't reached that stage yet"? Mate I'm middle aged now, my partying days are long gone, my only vices these days are a few beers or the odd joint once in a blue moon. I grew up in the days of illegal raves, punk and rock excess and embraced it all with hedonistic abandon, and I loved every fucking minute of it. Yet after a heavy weekend I always got up for work on the Monday morning and worked my way through the week before living it large for the following weekender. Don't worry about me, I'm just fine thanks, just don't be so quick to judge everybody else by your own failings and hang-ups.

Dragging this all back on topic, as for Miley herself, where will this all lead? Who can say? I think it's always been obvious that of the current crop of Disney teens she was the wild one, the party girl, the one who would lead the rock n' roll lifestyle. Will she be the next Lohan? Who knows, it seems to me a trip to rehab is as much a fashion statement with Hollywood's bright young things these days as designer shoes and a fluffy little pooch in their handbags.

We will just have to wait and see how things pan out, but please let's have less of the evangilistic sanctimonious self-righteous preaching on here OK....this place is called Phun (the clue's in the title!), it's not somewhere folks come to have your conservative and moralistic views rammed down our throats! Nobody agreed with you in that last thread. Nobody is doing so here. Move on.
