What's Up With Rapidshare? + New File Hosts

You are maybe right about the megathread thing for pornstars, but i don't like the idea of naming all posts exactly, especially with names of paysites. I know about the pros and cons and i mostly give all infos i have in the thumbs and in the rar-archives but i stopped naming it all in the thread since the last link deletion wave.

When i look around through these new posts (mostly FS) i wonder why it is still allowed to have other site/blognames in the previews/links or url-shortcuts inside the archives.
If this would be forbidden, i'm sure that half of the massposters were out of business here: taking a link from a blog, remoting it to FS, copying the thumbnail link from somewhere else and you have a typical massposter's post here.
There are several addons for IE and FF to look inside the archives (well ok, you need a premium account), and every second time i do this i find bloglinks, referrers for premium accounts and any other kind of crap inside those archives.

Heh, seems I decided to get back to uploading in the middle of a small FS-crapstorm. Better fast-track my plans of adding HF-mirrors to my new, and future, uploads (that are 100% site/blog link free and as sure as I can be that they aren't reposts hehe) asap.

Also, I support ackt's suggestion about specific pornstar threads and I agree with what LouisZ says as well.

 

Ban Filesonic and add Fileserve !!!

 

Why are so many requests to ban Filesonic from Hotfile posters?
Hotfile not better than Filesonic,downloaders should to ask ban.
Admit,here is much Filesonic and Hotfile spam,in my opinion the best solution would be to limit daily numbers of posts per user.

The spam problem is the poster, not the hoster. I personally think filesonic is a lying piece of crap, delivering around 1/10th of the promised "paid" speed, but there is some good content.

If posters keep reposting (which some certainly do, routinely an on-purpose), then ban the poster. Hard to search these by file name because they keep changing it, or by actress because they don't include a name. The offenders not only do not search, but in most cases they have never watched the vid they post, as shown by flagrantly inaccurate hair color, age and content descriptions. "false advertising" in titles should be grounds for instant life-time bans of the IP address!!!

This problem is far less at Phun than in some other places where poster throw up the same crap threads several times per day!

I remain convinced that Phun is THE best place to surf porn on the entire net, and if it can be made better that would be terrific. But I will be back tomorrow in any case...

 

Seems to differ quite a bit depending on where you are as Filesonic ironically is providing me with the best upload speeds - routinely a stable 2-3MB/s, compared to the 350KB/s or so I get when uploading to Hotfile - of all the hosts I've tried (Rapidshare, Megaupload, Hotfile and Filesonic). So as an uploader FS is nice to use, at least for me.

That said, I agree with everything else you say.

 

the reality is that the file sharing sites are being hit hard with law suits. Rapidshare has been hammered so there are new ones popping up and then they'll get hammered and the cycle will repeat itself.

And the true reality is that the file sharing sites are going to end up killing production porn eventually. Everyone I know who produces porn has seen sales drop more than 50%. Naughty America no longer has a studio and can't afford makeup artists for shoots anymore. Same goes for Bang Bros. ******** is the only one really thriving anymore and still their sales are way down over this time last year. We won't even bring up DVD because the companies who used to ship 10,000 dvds out a week or down to under 2500 a month now.

so the more stolen or "shared" porn you download the more you are contributing to the death of this industry. Call it whatever you want but there will be a day not so far off in the future when all you'll get is shitty lighting, tripod angles and people who don't know how to keep their arms out of the shot or whatever.

 

You know... one thing I'll give Filesonic is that the upload speeds are quite good, often better than Hotfile, as a free user. I don't know if that's a recent thing or not and I don't know if it gets better/worse as a premium user.

That said, for me download speeds: Hotfile > Filesonic. By like a country mile.

 

HF used to work much better for me but now FS is way better. Sometimes HF files go okay and the stall for ages only to continue really slowly.

God forbid your browser crashes and you have to start again.

 

Seems to me that location of the downloader is a factor as here in Florida, HF is consistantly quick whereas FS is all over the place. Sometimes (rarely) I can get a download from FS with the first try but most of the time I have to try five times or more to get a download time under five minutes. I'm a Premium subscriber of both services.

 

Btw... Rapidshare is full of it.

Found a few RS links I wanted to download, got to the download page. As I'm a RapidPro user, I chose to download via their "High Speed Download" option, which gave me an estimated download time of 1 minute 54 seconds. Click on the link, file begins to download and browser shows it's going to take 12 minutes to download.

Is anyone else having trouble downloading Filesonic? A lot of times, I will click on the link and a bunch of gibberish (at least that's what it looks like to me: I'm a luddite) appears on the new page... but no file download.

Thoughts?

 

Having this same issue with filesonic premium(I joined today), I am downing a file which said it would take a few minutes to download, I click the link and BOOM!! 2 hours left. WTF?
