    One of the worst national anthems of all time next to Rossanne Barr and Carl Lewis.

    How the he'll did she mess up the words and miss a whole section of the song? And then she continued to fucked it up by oversinging like she always does. It made me cringe listening to her!

    Everyone seems to be piling on the hate for her - not that it's unwarranted - but I think her major error is in coming across as a diva like she did when she was on Conan just a little while ago. When people do that then the whole world watches to see you slip up and on this evening she screwed up big time. I for one felt bad for her in between my astonishment at her ruining the anthem in front of a billion viewers and my uncontrollable giggling. :2cent:


    On a side note, I heard a radio DJ say the other day that you could miss the first 5 minutes of the telecast and not miss any of the game because Christina would still be crooning out The Star Spangled Banner in her over-the-top style. Guess he wasn't wrong. :smashfreakB:

    I don't understand why some say she is considered right up there with Whitney Houston, Celine Dion or Ella Fitzgerald...X-Tina is not even close. I'll give her credit that she can hit high notes but damn, every song she sings sounds the same and she over does notes to the point she Oooohs and Aaaahs just to fill in space. I'm sorry to those who like her as a ahem, "musician." I just cannot for the life of me remember one damn song of hers that she has sung in her career that I can remember. All i remember of her is her image of trying to be black or ghetto to trying to be a pin up girl from the 40s-50s, or trying to be latina to trying to be a Moulin Rouge chick. Fortunately with last night's national anthem debacle, I can at least remember one song that she will be known for

    Not hating on her, but yeah she ruined the song. It hurt to watch/listen.

    Whenever I watch live sporting events that feature a pre-game live performance of the anthem or whatever, I always hope that the singer doesn't do too many flourishes or mess up the notes. Shits important.

    the thing for me that made it that bit more cringeworthy was that she said the other week that she'd been dreaming about singing the anthem since she was 7. you'd think she'd know the words then wouldn't you!

    I think she did great and I say it was the nerves that made her "forget the words"... I looked like she was happy :p

    Alot of haters in here :)
    I'm happy for her and maybe she did screw up, but people don't have to hate the poor woman! She didn't get booed of stage for something that could be her nerves fault... Maybe that's the whole issue here! ;)
