BQ, are you using a download manager? You don't need jdownloader, but if you're using Firefox (like every perv should be), it's recommended that you get the Firefox addon "DownThemAll" and start that addon for your Filesonic downloads. You should get more consistent high speeds - once in awhile you'll still get a slow hiccup, but it should help you out immensely.

I've tried RPNet and RapidGen. They were both OK but not perfect.

RPNet is $8 and was a bit faster and more stable plus it worked with jdownloader. Not as good as having a single host account but alright.

RapidGen is cheaper although there are daily limits per host, you can get an account for $3.25 (FSonic/FServe 6gb a day each) or you can pay more for extra bandwidth. It didn't work that well with jdownloader for me but it was OK with DownThemAll. Speeds were fairly average and occasionally the files don't upload properly so you have to redo them. Rapidshare doesn't work anymore.

I know I posted more negative aspects about it but due to the price and being more versatile I prefer RapidGen although you get what you pay for and have to live with the quirks.

If you have any questions you can send me a PM if you want and I'll try to answer them for you.

Now at phun there are 95% post link hosted on filesonic and 4% post link hosted on hotfile and 1% post link hosted on either megaupload rapidshare or anything else.

So its time to now some more cash file host allowed like depositfile filefactory wupload fileserve.

Because at phun user had no choice.

Seems to me that both FileSonic and RapidShare are deleting files quicker these days. :(

Several of my recently posted files have been deleted from both of these hosts. :(

Luckily, they are still on MegaUpLoad and because of this, I'm going back to MUL only and it doesn't cost me anything! :D

And, it's easier to upload to only one host, rather than two or three (don't bother mentioning MultiUpLoad, as it does not work with premium or registered accounts).

I tried it in the past and I guess I'm too old school, as I really did not like it that much.

    Hey guys,
I am a paid up member of filesonic. When I'm logged in and try to d/l a file in high speed/premiem mode it tells me quote :-

'For High Speed Downloads you must upgrade to Premium. Choose your Premium plan below.'

How can this be when I'm already a member and logged in?
I have been paid since 19th Oct and not yet used the service

I have emailed filesonic several times but no reply. There is no phone number for them. However they have gladly taken my money...
    Can anyone please help?
    Cheers

The problem with Filesonic is that they have a habit of disabling your account for account sharing. I don’t share my account details AT ALL! I am therefore being hacked somewhere along the line. I had an 18 digit password that changed weekly.

Filesonic say it's tuff and they don’t give a dam, nor will they re-enable my account. Am I alone out there??

It has never happened to my Rapidshare account...

sginichois.....I had the identical problem until I figured out that I needed to log in to FS every time I returned to Internet Explorer. Once logged in, back out and then try to download the file again. That has worked for me and I am very happy with FS since I started doing that.

ALLOW WUPLOAD ITS A NEED BECAUSE THERE IS NO CHOISE FOR FREE USER. 90% POST FILESONIC LINKS 7% POST HOTFILE AND 3% REST.

IN WUPLOAD USER CAN UPLOAD A HD FILE IN A SINGLE LINK BECAUSE IT SUPPORT 2GB FOR FREE USER.

Im pretty sure it isn't only this member cause i had tons of stuff deleted that weren't even posted here!

First Hotfile account termination and now I've had a massive deletion of files on filesonic. Luckly I've got back of those on Fileserve and Oron and they don't delete files as easy as Filesonic. Really don't understand why they aren't allowed at Phun as long as there are rules limiting the number of daily posts.

Just curious: did those deleted files appear in the "removed"-section in your FS-account?
Cause i had a few files that were not rared, but uploaded as wmv or whatever and only those files disappeared without notice, so i begin to think they might use some blacklist filter ... but who knows ...

They started hashing files against copyright infringement (aka keeping the lawsuits away while still spreading the piracy goodness :p), they released a statement: http://www.filesonic.com/in-the-press

You guys should think twice now to reupload certain clips movies,i received a warning from filesonic to stop that, or my account will be terminated.

Filesonic has deployed Vobile Content Identification Technology to Combat Copyright Infringement and roughly 70% of my Filesonic links are dead. We've seem this before with Rapidshare and Hotfile (one report is enough to get an account termination these days).

So I reckon like me, since +90% of the threads here are hosted at Filesonic, there are a lot of members in the same situation which turns Phun into a Cemetery full of dead links.

IMHO we should allow another host that hasn't got the same agressive approach with Copyright Infrigement as Hotfile or Filesonic. There are good options out in the market such as Fileserve and the new Wupload. They offer reasonable good speeds and services for free users. In the other hand Oron sucks really bad!

Of course one day when the new host becomes the major force in piracy it'll have to take the same approach taken by Rapidshare, Hotfile and now Filesonic but it usually takes arounf one year till this happens.
