    Flippy, my main complaint with the news media is their hype. Example: today, it seems ex-spouses were having a heated custody battle.....one went bonkers and shot the other along with some of their relatives.......the news said the entire community was "nervous" as this was the first shooting in that area......come on now. Only people with crazy ex-spouses that are really pissed at them would have cause to be nervous. :rofl:

    when i saw documentaries a while back it seemed a lot of focus from your medias was to keep people scared constantly. There is a wild gunmen in the neighboorhood the water has been polluted and so on. Dont get me wrong there are probably a good reason too keep people on the alert but they make it sound like it doesnt matter where you live in the states your in constant danger for your life.

    Exactly. The problem is that they have to hype the news, sensationalize it, to get readers/viewers so their advertizing income is secure. There is so much more competition for news now with the multi media and plethora of both partial and news only TV networks. It is not going to get any better. I miss the way news was handled over 40 years ago! :wink:
