Poll: If we were to allow Depositfiles as an approved host?.............

I Approve i'm yet to buy a new MShip from the hosts so if you go with Depositfiles it's kool

In another very popular porn forum ( suzy) there is many post with a required and then they delete required host links very quickly , when I came into a post 2-3 days after it was posted, I find many dead rapidshare/ depositfiles links while mirrors one are still alive.

Anyway depositfiles isnt a good idea , since this week I have very slow dl speed with it a free user , less than 10kb/s , thats crazy , slower than rapidshare 's limitation.

 

I was about to post a query to see if anyone else has experienced the same very slow download speeds from Depositfiles. I've also been getting download speeds of 10-15 KB/s.

I voted in favour of DF a few days ago, but if the current slow transfer continues, I'd change my vote to "No".

 

thats because the files are reported, I have that a lot when I post there, but the Deposit files survive, thats why I kinda like them, I doubt people are delting their own uploads, you do get people being dicks there by rar'ing the host that does not pay as well for them

second point is an argument for a required host rule, because different regions different hosts are better, so a host should not be allowed because is slow for you but not for others? strikes me that is a little unfair. I get 150-200kbs with DF, that for me is faster than fileserve or rapidshare right now, though I have a RS account valid for 2 years from sharing so would love that host as well.

FAIL poll imo and i have no idea why there was so little interest.

 

My issue with Oron is that it limits downloads to twenty gigabytes per month.
But of course you can purchase another month and resume your downloads, for another 20GB.
Anybody else experience this?

DF still works fine for me, and I'm in the USA.

 

Depositfiles download speeds are pretty sporadic. Some days I get 200kb/s some days I get 20 kb/s. Like right now a 700 MB file has been downloading for 8 hours and is only 50% done.

The days of a good file host is a thing of the past. All of the hosts nowadays have some sort of drawback.

DF - random DL Speeds but files do seem to last longer
RS - dl's are throttled nowadays files last as well
HF - Good Dl speeds for free users but files get deleted in less than 24 hours.
Oron - Forum will be flooded like before with filesonic, but there would be more content.

 

I voted disapprove, hate DepositFiles and always cringe when its the only link available. I havent gotten a decent speed from them in what feels like years. But this is all assuming it is made the primary filehost here. If its lumped in with RS, HF, FS or other filehosts I wouldnt care much as I'd always go for the others.

Even Oron has given me hassle lately by timing out my downloads forcing me to wait over 2 hours and then restart.

How about sites like embedupload where it uploads your file to several websites?

 

20 GB per 3 days, not per month...

 

I hate oron for several reasons.
First dl limit, only 20 gigs for 3 days. Who dl HD material not enough at all,
Second 99% spamers and cash whores upload on oron. There is no point to upload anything when user like megam... on other major forum shows and make 300000 post in less then 2 months. Dont like that kind of forum, thanks.
Third, oron change prices every few days for premium accounts, and they are much more expensive then RS or HF. One day you can buy over PP other day you can`t, etc etc.
I`m glad that on phun, we have only few hosts, and I think they are ok wtih prices and speeds.

I agree with you if you are spammer or cash whore. Otherwise oron is not best.
As you can see here on Phun, you can find a lot of quality material and not to go on page 12544751235 like other forums, to find some clip you liked.
I know oron very well, and I stopped my oron activites 2 month ago. Many reasons is for that, you can see some of them above.
Just visit any other major porn forum and see all this crowd overthere and you will know what I`m talking about.
If mods allows oron here it will be end of phun as good forum with quality clips.
And one more thing, oron is owner of p2b and forumophilia did you know that?

Deposit does not count downloads from USA, but users from this country can download the files.

Besides - Oron is not necessary. Firstly, phun has got enough uploaders. Secondly, why to allow it? Free users don't like it. Thirdly, look at Porn-w, they banned Oron over year ago and have even bigger traffic then ever before.

 

As this thread was created for the discussion to allow Depositfiles here at Phun, it's quite alarming to hear about the recent rumors that Depositfiles has deliberately slowed down Free user speeds to 30kbps or less. Basically, Depositfiles is doing what Rapidshare is doing by dramatically slowing down Free user speeds. While there's no official word from Depositfiles about this, I decided to test it out myself.

I decided to test the speed of Depositfiles yesterday at various times to see if this was the case. For each of the speeds, I used the same file downloaded and allowed the file to download for a 10 minute period before canceling the download. Here are the sample speeds within a 24 hour period:

5:00pm 20kbps
6:30pm 20kbps
10:00pm 30kbps
11:00pm 35kbps
2:00am 24kbps
3:00am 30kbps
9:00am 25kbps
11:0am 20kbps
12:00pm 20kbps

I dunno if this is a temporary thing, but if it's something that's going to stay with Depositfiles, not only do I vote to disapprove the addition of Depositfiles, I HIGHLY disapprove if it's the ONLY filehost added.

Of course, if ALL filehosts are going to follow this distasteful pattern, then there's not much choice for Free users. At this time though, there are a number of filehost services that give WAY better download speeds to Free users that Phun management should be looking into.

That said, one of the filehost that should not be added is the one I'm about to comment below - while this discussion thread should only be focused on Depositfiles, this filehost has been brought up too many times in this thread that I felt the need to respond:

The reply quote above is typical of the cashwhoring cunts that consistently spam forums all over the place and represent an overall unhealthy obsession in cashposting that accelerated the recent filesharing blowup. Oron's awful wait times between downloads, download limits, unreliable downloads that can "mysteriously" interrupt as well as overall shady nature make it FAR from "the best adult content file host"... so shady, in fact, that Paypal discontinued any direct service connection with Oron.

I don't intend to sound all Pollyanna about myself - I'll fully admit that I have a bias against the use of Oron. But, there are plenty of better options worth exploring and I sure as hell don't want to see Phun become a haven for Oron crap postings.

Anyways, off my soapbox - like I said, this discussion is about Depositfiles and if Free user speeds for DF are going to be consistently awful as they are demonstrated above, then only adding Depositfiles to Phun's approved filehosts gets a big "HELL NO" from me. We need a couple more options added, not just one... and certainly filehost options that are friendly to Free users.

 

Uploaders and downloaders have different opinion , depends who phun will choose to privilege .
For uploaders, you could make a poll for any host they would say yes as far as they have an affiliate.

-As an uploader I would ask for oron , I use it myself on my blog, but honestly I really dont like oron files, too many limitation for both free and premium user. Really wouldnt like to see oron on phun.
-Bitshare shoulnt be considered for even a single second, site very slow, often down , one of the slowest dl speed. And even for uploaders it seems it work painfully (slow file manager, stats not counted , upload issue etc...)
-Depositfiles for myself is the slowest host at the moment for more than a week now, long waiting time for free users. To me its same as Oron, without dl limitation for premium users.
