Are you kidding? Bees are responsible for pollinating nearly half the plants on Earth, including most of the food crops. They're anything but evil.

Africanized bees are responsible for many attacks on people. They've only been in the U.S. for about 20-25 years. They mate with regular bees who are GOOD for us, and that causes a problem.

You'd be surprised. "Regular" bees will pursue someone for as far as 100 yards if provoked enough. Africanized bees will give chase for 10X that distance. Africanized bees are seriously aggressive and they don't send just a few to do the job, they come on by the hundreds. They're a big problem in Las Vegas, though it seems the word has got out good enough that they are dealt with fairly quickly now.

    Night Hayd.

Are you sure they aren't hornets, Classy? Hornets are dark in color usually.

I don't think they acted out of malice. ;)

    Hey u
It's a reality we have to live with. They pollinate plants just like their European cousins. The only alternative is to import South African Bee Eaters (a very colorful bird and natural bee predator) to control their population. A bird like that would actually thrive in the American southwest. I think it would be cool to see them introduced here.

When I was a kid.. I was standing on the stairs to our church
and I felt something in my pant leg

I immediately reached down and grabbed it ..while it was inside my pants
    and started yelling "spider...spider"
    and thankfully
    somehow
the wasp managed to free itself
and with my vicious leg shaking .....flew off

I left out the part where I tell you it wasn't a spider but a wasp

it was uuughly to say the least
