    I retired from the local City with 40 years of service. The City has they own retirement plan. We can retire after 20 years of service. We get 2% of the average of our highest 3 years of salary for each year of service. Example if you three best years average $50K and you worked 30 years, your annual retirement would be 2% x 30 x 50,000 equaling $30K annually or $2,500 a month.

    We would have plenty of money if my kids had been done with school.
