A Steak is killing an animal for FOOD, self-preservation.. many animals killed for FUR are killed just for their FUR and nothing else is used from the animal.. so there is a difference.

Indians killed deer to eat, they used the hides for clothes, the tendons for sinew which had MANY uses, bones for jewelry/cash/knives/tools and meat for food. Indians can teach the world a LOT about NATURE and how to not be an idiot in general in regards to WASTE and LITTERING/KILLING the PLANET!

If you're referring to the indigenous people of the American continent (or, the folks who were here when the Europeans arrived); more accurately, they'd be called "Native Americans". They really don't need to bother using bones for tools anymore - they could buy them at the nearby Home Depot or Sports Authority. Bones for cash??? Have you tried that? It hasn't been done in hundreds of years (boy, you're making me shake my head in amazement). Do you think we're still in the 1700s? American Indian culture has evolved far beyond wearing loincloths and trading the island of Manhattan for a few blankets and a fist full of beads.

While you're at it, look into how steak is actually "harvested" from cattle that isn't culled while they are young (killing a calf at about 24 weeks...that's "for survival"????) While the fur industry is disgraceful for wasting the animal flesh, it isn't without precedent ...have you ever tried eating a weasel (mink)? Or how about a rodent, like a beaver (aside from the 2 legged type )? What about a dog (Foxes)? Not too appetizing, really. So, we (as humans) have a history of raising and/or trapping animals for the sole purpose of using their fur for clothing, and we've been doing that for thousands of years. And yeah - if I killed a bear, you'd be damned sure I'd wear that fucker's fur for decoration! I'd probably leave the carcass for the other animals. That's eco-friendly, right?

I'm sorry for veering so far off topic. I couldn't help myself. It just pissed me off to read someone being self-righteous about fur, but with a 6th Grade understanding about Native Americans.

That is such PC nonsense. You do realize that anyone born on the continent could call themselves a "Native American," right? Anyway, most of the people in question prefer "American Indian" or some variation thereof. The "Indian" applies to the people you call Native Americans just as much as it applies to people actually from India.
