    I assume you mean virtual RAM, the other fixed ram have nothing to do with the hdd

    yes, might have to split it into 2 partitions though depending on what sort of backup you are gonna create.

    both the fixed and virtual memory has to do with how windows work.. only way to fix the fixed RAM is to replace the modules inside the pc..

    might be able to set the program to make backups without having to partition the disk, yes a hdd is usually faster than cd/dvd or tape backups, but also more fragile.
