Indeed. That's something I'm working on...I've never had the best luck with the ladies, and this incident certainly didn't help...it's kinda got me thinking "geesh, if my [supposed] best friend can do this to me...wtf will other girls do?" I know that's the wrong mentality...it's just kinda sub-conscious.

Thats the chance you take when you cross that line with a friend. Personally, I think its hardly ever a good idea. Friendships can last a lifetime, but a gf/wife rarely does in this day and age. Lesson learned hopefully. Thats life buddy. Always a learning experience Youll be fine.

 

Bro women are fucked up and trust me they feel the same about us. Youre never gonna understand them or be able to predict what they will do. Dont live your life in fear, that can lead to a life of regrets. Trust me, regret is worse than rejection.

I agree 100%. rejection can be very painful, but will dissipate - regret can build over the years. it's not Phun to think back years later "I should have ... now I'll NEVER know"

 

Yeah, I know... I really didn't want a relationship with her, for that reason. I mean...I did, but I didn't. Make sense? Like...we had been flirting for a long time before we started dating, had kissed once, and everything she did made me feel like she had feelings for me. I never explicitly asked her out, actually...we sat down to talk about it, because we both knew everyone thought we were dating anyway...And somehow, we ended up dating after talking. Like drunk sex...It just "happened" And while we were "dating" (used in quotes because looking back on it, it was more 'me dating her' and 'her using me'), everything she did made it seem like she had feelings for me, too. In hindsight, she was just lonely, and wanted attention. The bitch.

Regret is indeed worse than rejection. Case in point...I regret her and I dating, because it destroyed our friendship. :-(

I've never made a girl a "best friend" before "dating" (*ahem*) her. I saw a lot of guys getting screwed over by girls that way. But I know of cases where it works. But that's my personal experience.

Im actually one of those people that believe men and women cant be just friends. Theres always feelings involved, usually by the guy. Strangely enough this rule doesnt apply to them. They can friend your ass forever.

 

I've had my heart broken by 3 women in my life. Interestingly, I'm FaceBook friends with 2 of them now.

 

in my experience it works great if you're not into the girl. but if she's pretty and you get along great and you want more it cam be hard (pardon the pun). If you're close friends, a lot of the ways you interact can mimic the signals given off in a romantic relationship. the way she smiles, her body language, etc. all say "I like you" - it's hard not to confuse that with romantic cues.

Unless she's ugly, then it's quite easy not to misinterpret.
