what career is she trying to bolster with negative PR?

 

She isn't doing this for PR, but I think RP55 is thinking of how reality stars like to stay in the limelight even in a negative sense because their entire "career" is based on exposure, regardless of context. Amanda, however, actually had a career in movies. And she probably could again, if she cleaned up her act. But even if she didn't, it would take one phone call to either start or join a reality show. In other words, she don't need the press.

 

Always thought of her as really cute with amazingly long legs. But obviously, not the brightest bulb in the pack. Feel really sorry for her in some ways.

 

Think of the amount of daily media coverage of Lindsay's and Paris's legal hijinks. It's a tremendous amount, and far more than any movie, TV show, perfume design, etc., promotion campaigns would produce. If Amanda's currently out of the public eye due to lack of legit projects, this is another way for her name to stay in the media, even if negative, as the negativity will be forgotten, for the most part. Hell, look at Charlie Sheen; behaved like a coke fiend, ruined his current show, with a ridiculous amount of daily media coverage, but now has a new show worth millions to him. I'm telling you, a celeb's agent, PR consultant, image consultant, etc., will truly consider any strategy to further the celeb's career, because of the potentially huge monetary returns. :2cent:

 

You really think the cops could make a case with the photographer stalking her when he knows the cops let Amanda drive away with just a warning after having her license suspended not to long ago for driving drunk and hitting a cop car.

 

If her license was really suspended at the time of the traffic stop, it's unlikely they would have let her go (though I was once let go after having my own license suspended due to an unpaid ticket, so it's possible). But even so, the police can't make a case against the paps. They are well within their rights to follow her.

Paris is a socialite, meaning she's famous for being rich and hanging out in high society. For her, all press is good press, simply because the kinds of things she attaches her self to--reality shows, handbag lines--thrive on name exposure. She isn't beholden to any brand, she's just out to remain famous. Lindsay, on the other hand, has had no career since this mess began. She was a popular and prominent actress, and now she isn't. She still does the occasional film, but at the height of her "Linds-sanity" she was making cameos in the "Extended Cut" rerlease of Underground Comedy Movie by that guy from the ShamWow commercials, so clearly her exposure didn't do anything to help her career.

Same goes for Amanda. Where exactly are all the roles this newfound exposure has wrought? Yeah, didn't think so. In reality, studios don't want to deal with idiots like her, because they know she'd be unreliable. This bad-girl image is only hurting her career.

Actually I was being sarcastic to the ones who sounded like Chris Crocker about us picking on Amanda haha I do the same thing if I was the photographer. I agree with your whole post too, a lot of valid points you make!

Sad situation, but her legs look great! I too hope she can get the help she seems to need.
