crazy expensive for glasses pm. even with work insurance, they only reimburse me $300.

I just talked with my Baby. I miss her so much.

 

I'm making dinner (the usual) and checking Phun. I'm tempted to make another late-night trip to the recycling place. They're open all night, but you're only supposed to go there once a day. Or, I might just stay home. Haven't decided.

If it's child then respect, if its the girl who stabbed you and you made a big thing out of then maybe you should either ditch her or not make a big thing out of it.

I talked with my Baby as in Girlfriend. I miss her so much. I am still with her Jamms. we are working things out. I still love her and she still loves me. we had one major fucked up night

I wonder why glasses are so cheap over there, Jamms. Do you pay into a national health insurance thing?

I seen a show callled Marketplace up here in Canada, they said glasses cost $75 max to manufacture. lenses and frames. markup is from "the big 3" makers.

markup, they cost $300 to $500. bastards.

In the U.S., if you buy optical insurance, your Dr. exams are mostly covered. If you pay extra, glasses are covered up to a certain dollar amount. (In some insurance policies, you don't have to pay extra.) But They really stick it to you on the glasses, not the Dr. exam. If you want glasses that actually LOOK GOOD, you still end up paying money, even with insurance! With no insurance, the total here comes to about what you paid, if you choose good looking glasses.

 

All brits automatically pay into the NHS. I did a quick count with an
american friend this year and he estimated that for a 36 hour hospital stay it cost him over $50k. My dad is in hospital ever second week right now and pretty much has been for a few years. If that is the price for a non NHS system I would have had to let my dad die four years ago as I could not afford to keep him alive.

All for pieces of paper with other guys heads printed on them.

 

In Scotland eye test, prescriptions and so on are NHS. Glasses you pay for but they are cheap. My best friend is a proper good looking guy so he wanted a kind of sharper pair of specs so the ladies wouldn't dismiss him, they were 60 bucks.

 

You're lucky (even though you still have to pay in) that your dad is taken care of like that.

I guess the problem in North America is that glasses have become such a huge retail enterprise, the sellers can get away with charging overly huge sums of money for our vanity. And they're getting away with it.

 

Honestly PM, I get annoyed when I end up arguing with Americans and so on about this as they tend to think that I am an outsider trying to barge in on their freedoms when I am genuinely concerned with well-being. I know the joy I feel of knowing that me, my friends and everyone I know can get pretty excellent health care all the time and without limits for so little an outlay. And I wish that sort of "oppression" on everyone
