Boy, that brings back a lot of memories.......and some sadness for those we have lost over the years......almost as many from aircraft crashes as from car crashes. :?

 

I heard today that the massive decline in deadly U.S car accidents has stopped, and may be on an upward trend.

 

I suspect the reason is that people driving are just not paying attention. I subscribe on FB to accident/crash info for here in Gainesville....it is amazing the number of serious crashes that occur daily here. I do not know what they can do about it....you know it just cost us all more for insurance. I spend a fortune on insurance as I have max coverage and have un/under insured motorist for property damage and hospitalization. I read where over 30% of the Florida drivers are uninsured and another 40% are under insured. Now, that is something the frigging government should do something about!

Spent some time this afternoon looking up seizures in dogs.......I think Domenic has a bit of an occasional problem with this.....:?

You may not notice the "situation" unless you are really paying attention....he does not fall down or get stiff or kick/twitch, etc. He get very still, almost like a statue. His eyes are open, but there is not reaction to anything around him. This last between one and two minutes, then he is very subdued for about an hour. If you get close to him during the statue phase and try to pet him, he will bare his teeth. When he begins to move, you can call him and he will come and act close to normal, just subdued or sleepy. Last night he was begging at the kitchen counter and my wife tried to give him a small scrap and he did not move....she got worried and called me. He was sitting there motionless with a glazed look in his eye. He did not turn his head when I entered the kitchen which is very not normal. He did not look at me when I started talking to him......He bared his teeth when I reached to touch his head......a few seconds later, he turned his head and looked at me, but did not move from his sitting position. after about ten seconds, I call him and slowly walked over to me and we cuddled as normal with no hint of teeth baring etc. It took about an hour after that for him to act like his normal energetic self. He has been acting normal all day today.

I don't know, but will keep an eye on him with this in mind. The dog that live immediately to the north must take seizure meds and still has them occasionally, but hers are much more dramatic.

 

I have no idea what it could be, but it sounds like some medication might help.

 

I have seen similar behavior in other dogs......and it was diagnosed as seizures. so far, this is not a regular occurrence. I will monitor it and act accordingly. If it is a brain tumor, I cannot afford to have that addressed. Sometime this is just a condition the dogs are born with, similar to people. I am not going to worry about it at this point, just be mindful of it and monitor it. He does appear to be in any pain.....just acts confused for a while.
