West Virginia’s 38-14 loss to Syracuse in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday was humiliating, but the headline in the Weirton Daily Times made it about 20 times worse.

“WVU loses bowel”

The unfortunate typo appeared at the top of the main section of the paper as a tease to what we assume was an interesting - and very personal - story about something that happened during the game - or after it - in the bathroom of the locker room.

While many would claim West Virginia pooped itself in a game many thought it would win, not sure it's appropriate to use that as a game story teaser.

Last I checked I was no figment of anyones imagination. I consider the lot of you my friends. My real friends. Internet is irrelevant to me. I talk to people here more than I do people in my day to day life.

 

Congrats on Canada's win over the USA. But at least I can brag the the Stanley Cup goalie is from my town.

one of the players we saw Friday night was Yale's Antoine Laganiere. The paper mentioned that in attendance Friday were Todd Marchant, director of player development with Anaheim, Craig MacTavish, vice president of operations for Edmonton, and Rod Gilbert, a member of the Rangers’ front office. I wish him well & hope he does well in the NHL one day.

 

sarcasm can be fun if done with some finesse. It's can be easier in real life than in print ...
