I have seen those, but never had one.....growing up, my parents had their box by the front door, and I had one attached to my first house by the front door, but ever since, the box has been out by the street.

Hej all.

 

Have not had a problem and had my own mail receptacle now for 40 years......I do take important things I am mailing out directly to the post office though.

I think we should have the rule that if someone steals your mail then they have to pay any bills they steal.

 

Over here the postman puts the mail thru the door, so they can't steal it

 

Here too. But if I get a package that doesn't fit it goes back to the office. Which closes at 3 Oclock, meanwhile the majority of UK work finishing times is either 4 or 5 oclock. So they can't deliver a package to you because you are at work so they take it to a place that closes before you finish work. It's a winning idea

 

Where you live again Cold? So many global members that sometimes I forget.

 

I think I have to move.. it's like driving for children when driving neighbor and some of his friends around

 

Thief and tampering with the mail is a federal offense over here.....jail time....but of course, they have to be caught and found guilty in court first.

in the cities here in apartment buildings the mailboxes are either just inside the door in a locked mailbox which only the mailman and the tenant have keys for, or a mailslot in each door in the building. But in the countryside or private buildings in the cities the mailboxes are out by the road so that the mailman won't have to get out of the car when delivering mail.

you can if you'd like get a mailbox with a lock on it. Packages that won't fit or are too heavy are being sent to locak stores where you can go and fetch it when you get a notification in the mailbox or a text in the phone.
