    :yup: They have new (as in different) cars this year......it drives and behaves differently than the previous cars.....lots of wrecking in practice sessions....I have a practice session on the tube now. Plus, for the forst time in history, a female driver, Danica Patrick, won the pole position for the start of the 500 on Sunday.

    Actually, I would say no to that. She has been very conservative to protect her car so far. Saturday night they ran the equivalent of the old Bush Clash or Dash.....the drivers are only those that won a pole the previous year or a past winner of the event. She was not eligible to run in that as she won no Cup series poles last year. In practices, she has been very conservative. The qualifying runs last Saturday afternoon were single car runs for time. She was fairly conservative last year in both the few Cup races she ran and in the Nation Wide series. She was crashed out of several races by other driver mistakes....also just caught up in massive pile ups. I do think she is standing her ground more now than when she first started, not allowing other drivers to "bully" her......I personally do not call that being aggressive. She is definitively out there to run well, finish high, and win races.

    New chassis, new bodies, more safety equipment and changes. NASCAR wanted to make or allow the cars to more resemble the manufacturers actual cars also.
