Driving was a mo-fo last night!

A layer of ice, topped with a few inches of snow, and nothing was plowed! I slowed to make a right turn toward work, but the car kept going straight through the intersection. The anti-lock brakes kicked in, and I finally made the turn, about 15 feet late! The intersection was pure ice.

 

so, yes then.

those conditions really make it interesting to drive in (even with studded tires which you can't have)

 

Two women who drive together called off - they had an accident on the road and they called from the car!

There was no word of injury, but if they couldn't continue their drive, the accident must have been pretty bad.

Right. I hope they're OK.

I just got my own city's approximate statistics: We had almost 1 inch of rain (!), then about 5.5 inches of snow after that. (An inch of rain = ~1 foot of snow, plus or minus.)

 

they are expecting some snow to fall here in the weekend.. I've had enough of that now, but someone in the skies think differently
