was hobbit as crap as the other p. jackson versions of Tolkien?

 

I enjoyed it. Although if you didnt like the lotr trilogy you probably won't like this. I'm high so I guess I'm not much of an accurate critic

 

Ive been reading Tolkien for about 40 years avidly, so Im not a real "adaptation" fan.

 

Longest blades we hauled last year was 62.5M's making the trucks about 182' long

You must have specfic routes to accommodate your trailer size right?

 

oh yes. routes, escorts, steerman, and on those long blades we had police escorts

 

we can only move on certain hours on certain days and still get there.

 

Sounds like quite an event. How far did you move it?

 

little rock Ar. to Ebensberg, Pa.

although the routing we had to take made the trip about 1050 miles.

I picture it being tedious. Do you find it so?

 

naw, it's actually a blast. just imagine youre driving a 175 foot long truck at 65 mph in traffic. It's like a video game. I drive the front end and my steerman drives the back and we can take up 150 feet of roadway any time we want at 50-60 mph.

when we decide to change lanes, we can take all of them at once on any highway in the US.

 

Hmmm....I guess Im thinking about not fucking anybody or the cargo up. Seems like a lot of pressure. I guess not when you're a pro.

1 damage claim and you go home. Never drive wind energy again. I got a good friend, put a scratch on a blade about a 18" long. Cost him and his steerman both their careers last fall.

 

Yea that definitely sounds like pressure. A shame about your friend. Do you get paid well? Like more than the normal wage?

 

lol, yeah. the big blades paid $4600 to me gross per trip, each trip lasts 8 days rinse repeat.

this year will pay a bit less on our first job but then we got a sweet deal starting in June that pays $2200 per run on a 2 day run, we'll start at 2 runs a week for a couple weeks then move up to 3 runs per week for 60 sets of blades

20 weeks at $6600 a week? Oh yeah.
