Doesn't it need to be salt water? I did read 100 gram salt for 1 liter water

For a test just to see if the eggs are all right to use, dissolve 2 tablespoons salt in 2 cups cold water, then put the egg in the water. If it sinks, it's good; if it floats, it's too old.

I just put 3 of the eggs in water and they sank to the bottom. I believe hard-boiled eggs float.

 

or.. since eggs are quite cheap, just take them outside along with a bat and have some messy fun
