    hey I'm back, was refueling this DC3 earlier. cool plane! they changed the engines a few years ago, turbo prop engines on an ancient plane!

    we put in 1923 litres of fuel into it. when we were done I asked the Pilot "shit, this wasn't when it was built was it? "

    he laughed and said "no but awful close, this was built in 1942!!!"

    yeah they changed the engines from ancient radial engines to new turbo prop ones.

    but still a damn cool Plane there Thore!

    30 to 40 years ago, we had a rather famous, but a bit eccentric author living here that had an old German three engine plane; one each on the wings and one in the nose of the plane. It was very old also....dates back to the 1930. It was a bright olive green with bright yellow trim. The body was corrugated tin riveted together....a very slow flying plane, but neat to see flying over your house.
