My oldest has decided to move to Portland, Oregon; and is busy trying to line up an apartment. He wanted to leave by now, but securing an apartment there from here is apparently difficult. He loves the area and will be closer to LA, so trips there will not cost as much. You cannot function in LA without a car which he does not have, nor money to buy one.....with insurance....with gas, etc. I would like to see him get there as soon as possible.

My youngest finishes medical school the end of this month and will start his emergency medicine residency at a large hospital in Orlando on July 1. I will be transferring my car that he has been driving to him before the end of July. That will save me between $1K and $1.5K a year on the various insurances I carry to cover him with. I will take my wife and her parents to his graduation ceremonies on Saturday, June 9th.

are you feeling as recovered as can be from surgery now pm?

 

I'm as recovered as I'll be. If a surgeon saw the small hernia on the top of the incision, he'd want to operate to fix it. I'm not ready for more surgery now though. About 70-80 percent feeling in toes and bottoms of feet, and that's as good as that'll get. As far as my colon, I have no "schedule" anymore. When it hits, it hits.

I think I'm around 85% feeling in my hand as well. I'm around 75% mobility. I still kinda struggle with fine motor skills. but I'm hoping with time it will come back. but I'm a little worried it won't. I'll know more when I see the Surgeon for a follow up in July or August.

am I worried that Lisa is coming home. no. am I worried about our relationship? it's a lot to work on but we'll get through it. sobriety is our first step and we have both taken that step.

 

I discovered the hernia when it popped out about a year ago. You can't miss it, right above my belly button.

 

You can see it from the outside if I wear a t-shirt.

I had an umbilical hernia.....before it, my navel was flat.....with it, it was like someone cut a large lemon in half and glued it over my navel. I could not wear t-shirts or any kind of knitted shirts. I had it fixed about 16 years ago....
