    She knows she would upset too many in Russia, where she is a bigger celeb, by going for dual citizenship. She could have done it long ago if she wanted as she has been an American national since age 6. She gets her ass kicked by Serena Williams almost every time anyway. She's 2-13 against her lifetime. She has stated bluntly that she identifies more with her Russian heritage as she played for them in the last Olympics....where she got her ass handed to her by Serena Williams.

    It's a hunch I realize but I get the feeling it's been about ual threatsdand after Sochi,she won't have any obligation to Russia anymore,and if she became American with the US crowd behind her,her confidence and play would blossom,and along with Serena,we'd have dual threats to win titles,until Sloane Stevens takes over!
