:yup: Part of my new eating regimen....I am cutting down as much as I can on processed food also, which means I am and will be cooking from scratch so I can control just what it is that I am eating....I am hoping that this will not only be more healthy, but also assist me in losing the rest of the weight that I want to lose.....some 80 pounds or so.

I will probably get out my old juicing machine I have had for decades, but rarely used. I will have to learn to make veggie drinks...:p

Mostly water......and home masticated various veggie juice....carrot, kale, berries, apples, etc. I will be using natural honey in modest quantities to add a touch of sweetness when necessary. Honey is much better for you than processed sugar.

I am beginning to get a little hungry, so I will have low fat cottage cheese and plain red beans that I soaked, cooked, and seasoned with sea salt and pepper, after I take the dogs out for their last trip out tonight.

I have done much of this before, but got lazy and went back to eating quick and easy pre-fab foods. Now that I am retired, I have no excuse such as lack of time, etc. In 6 weeks, I have lost 20 pounds of the weight I had gained back over the past year. I am roughly at 240 now and am aiming in the vicinity of 160. Should be interesting. I will maintain my protein intake with a combination of low fat dairy and lean meats along with whey protein. I have been using the whey protein, chocolate flavored, in my morning coffee and dropped using Splenda......for about 4 months now.

It is mostly just deciding to do it, then just stick with it. This is no fad......approved by most doctors (including my son).....many people have lost weight more effectively using this method than any other AND they stay on this regimen AND they maintain their weight loss. So, what the heck....I will give it a shot!

Eat: meat, eggs, dairy, green vegetables

Don't eat: bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, sweets.

Eliminate as many carbs and sugars as possible because they produce insulin and insulin stores fat. Not animal fat, mind you. You're body converts animal fats into calories or insulin as necessary. Carbohydrates are the biggest enemy when it comes to weight gain, so eliminate those carbs.

This has been working well for me for a long time. :)

Because you eliminate all processed carbohydrates, it is much better for diabetics.

I had my annual physical last Tuesday ....... My diabetic "numbers" were by far the best they have ever been and I am only half way into the process of converting to this regimen. I am hoping I can lose the weight and eliminate the diabetic meds I take.

Yep. The only thing I add to that is to prepare from scratch all of you food at home to insure you don't consume preservatives, additives, and other chemicals the processed food industry adds. Don't want a list of ingredients that I cannot pronounce.

It is processed from a plant leaf. PM, I have changed my pallet over the years. I cannot stand potato chips anymore...it feels like I am eating butter from all the oil/grease in them. It will not be that difficult to "learn" to to like foods with lesser degrees of sweetness.

    That is great news! :yup:
I hear that. Conversely, I refuse to buy anything labeled "organic" because it's a scam to charge higher prices.

    Thanks!

The only organic I will most likely consume is that which I may grow myself one day.

Hello my friend. How are you and the dogs coming along? :)
I'd love to start a victory garden. Especially for fresh tomatoes. :yumyum:
    Take care Thore! :bye:
