    It will take three days of no rain and sunshine to get my yard back to normal.....very damp soil, but without standing water or soft spots.

    There is 0.3 degrees difference between the air temp and the dew point.....all my windows are fogged up on the outside as the temp inside my house is below the dew point....we are really wet and damp here with this 5 weeks of rain. :?

    I know a lot of people that prefer this weather to 50F temps.....My ex-boss was from Mass. and he hated when it went below 50F. My dad always handled the cold without difficulty and I expect I will do the same. I would love to try living in the mountains of northwest North Carolina. I think I would love being above 4,000 feet with the associated cooler nights.

    If you imagine North America a few hundred years ago, with no pavement etc., year-round food is probably one of the big reasons.

    :33:.....in 1813 most of the people were in the northeast....at least north of Virginia with the exception of coastal cities in the Carolinas and extreme norther Georgia.....Florida did not "open up" until the rail system was put down the east coast. The south has been 95% rural until after WWI.
