    Well, it's in the central valley, south of Sacramento. It's an agricultural community. It's a nice little city not too far from both the Bay area and the Sierra mountains. That's about the sum of it.

    I love trains. When I was growing up in suburban Chicago the Chicago & North Western mainline was a mile from our home. I loved going down to the tracks and watching the freights pass and hearing the locomotive horn cry out in the dead of night. The house here in Modesto is less than half a mile from the Union Pacific mainline and every time I step out for a smoke I hear a train going by in the distance. I find that comforting. :)
