General question - has anyone heard of anyone being arrested/charged what with the FBI and apple doing investigations or were the hackers that good to avoid prosecution.?

 

ABSOLUTE CONJECTURE AHEAD:

Eh, it's more so the amount of manpower/work-hours involved in catching these guys that's more cumbersome. No one has been investigated or arrested directly because they knew how to organize themselves and their actions before going public with anything. It was largely simply password request reset hacks, in which finding the personal email is the hardest part of the whole ordeal. From there, just make sure you're using a proxy or Tor or something to obscure your identity when carrying out the reset, because email hosts do keep track of every IP that logs into an account, which the feds have assuredly looked at, but the issue will be that the IP listed is registered in Belarus, which will require a warrant and good diplomatic relations, but that leads to just another IP (assuming record keeping is accurate) in South Africa, so repeat process and it all just takes an enormous amount of time to process, and the end result is hardly worth it, because now you have to justify everything in court. The only reason the guy who hacked ScarJo got caught was because he foolishly went after people he knew in real life and then had the gall to try to blackmail them.

It's also not worth it because it's all a process that pretty much anyone determined enough can do without a great amount of effort involved on their end. Seriously, as long as celebrities (and everyone else, really) aren't utilizing two-factor authentication, their accounts are incredibly vulnerable to attacks from whomever is interested. Using two-factor authentication can still be beaten but it takes a hell of a lot more work that for most isn't worth it in the slightest. Then again, the guys behind the Fappening were working collectively which strongly expedites the process so who knows.

 

Also, Apple's investigation was done in a week and was mostly just so they could tell the world "it wasn't our fault if they didn't use strong enough passwords, now give us access to your bank accounts and credit card info for Apple Pay!"

If somebody think that these pics are fakes or unusual, know that this is the currency in Hollywood. Got to show your tush and other stuff to get roles. Gwyneth Paltrow one said when she was starting, she had to put out to get roles. And she was not the only one. How do you think these unknowns are rising to stardom so fast...it is whoever you are giving it too. Think Jen has been giving a lot
