    Haven't seen the movie, but Mae is obviously miscast. She is in no way fat (thanks unrealistic Hollywood standards) and is light years more attractive than the plasticized looking triple bagger Bella is growing into.

    If I may insert my nerd comment - the Bella Thorne character doesn't exist in the book. I think the filmmakers were afraid they wouldn't be able to sell the movie on the merits of the book (which is actually quite good).
