    It was a two part question. I think the problem lies in the first part.

    Aside from some page 3 models being icons above normal celebrity(samantha fox, linda lusardi etc), it's very easy to imagine one being recognised. It's easy to imagine someone phoning a friend and saying "guess who I just saw in Safeway?" It's easy to imagine her being hired to make appearances at events on the strength of her... celebrity. She appears in magazines, newspapers, radio and tv appearances. If you can say the same thing about someone only famous(you can tell where this is going) for a meme... then they have celebrity to.

    What you do or what made you famous has nothing at all to do with celebrity.
