We've seen both totally nude before. Why would nudity mean a great film? Showgirls is a shit film with good nude scenes. Do them good nude scenes make that shit film good? No. The film is still shit but with good scenes of nudity.

Secondly, my comment about it being a great movie was clearly sarcastic. And meant in terms of the realm of "phun.org" users are concerned not like great for an Oscar/Academy Award.

So, to be more clear, the movie might suck, but if 1 or both of them were to show their breasts it would be "great" for many men around the world.

Exactly. If we (and I assume that most of us are included here) routinely spend time online watching women take three 14 inch cocks into theiir mouths, pussies, and asses simultaneously, then most mainstream sex/nude scenes are laughably tame by comparison. That is, unless the nudity is from a major star who has never been nude before, e.g., Kirsten Dunst, Scarlett Johannson. Other than that, mainstream movies are mostly "watch it for the plot."

 

Some of us can separate porn from mainstream movies.

The rarity in seeing beautiful/sexy celebrities nude is why it's "great" or a thrill. I don't need every woman to be having sex to enjoy seeing them nude.

Alexandra's brief nude scene in True Detective was better than most porn scenes on the market today.

 

Seeing a chick naked, like Daddario in True Detective, is never a 'bad' thing, but sex scenes and nudity generally do nothing in terms of making the movie any better. Unless it's seamlessly done so as to not detract from the story, it's just not necessary. I mean, for every minute spent emphasizing sex, that time could be spent towards something more interesting. I know very few of my favorite films have any nudity or sex at all.
