Is she a celebrity because she is the daughter of a celebrity, or a celebrity because she has a credit on imdb? She is average in appearance with a regular every day bod.

 

I wouldn't press the definition of "celebrity" here too much. Why are any of the Kardashians celebrities??? What talent do they have, other than self-promotion and a sex tape? Nada. In point of fact, most of the young "celebrities" here are usually cute, good bods (or so-so), and a publicist. Usually, the publicist hires a photog and puts the pix up on the internet. As to Hailey, she is a celeb because she is the daughter of a celeb who got her father in a pickle several years ago. Now everyone wants a peek at her. She is as qualified to be a celeb as any other pretty face out there.

 

I think she would qualify for having an IMDb credit and being a model. She shouldn't have ditched the blonde hair.

 

They are not. Not even the one who pays others to let her model.

 

There is a term in America where certain people are known as "Famous for being famous".


If by chance you are "famous", then that makes you a "celebrity".

 

I would think her celebrity is drawn from her parents, like Madonna's child. Imagine the papps all up in your ass when yo be 16 and pretty.

Why does one have to have any sort of talent to be a celebrity?

I would say there is a LACK of TALENT attached to today's celebs. Nonetheless, they become famous.

 

There are lots of celebrities that are average looking with an "every day bod".

 

I know it happens from time to time, but mother and father both have blue eyes, but her's are brown.

IMHO singers / songwriter / musicians are they only celebrities that have true talent. I don't count singers that are a managed product, that only sing what someone else writes and have handlers that tell them what to do . There is the occasional rare actor that can do more than play pretend, usually while doing Shakespeare. Athletes should not even be considered a celebrity. Sports are fun, but after college I don't think much of someone who makes millions from playing games children play...... Reality stars aren't worth even talking about. If the sheeple want to elevate someone to celebrity status that is their choice..... That being said, if a woman has a nice body I have no problem admiring them putting it on display.
