    Should they have been wearing black burkas? If you think women wearing shorts in warm weather qualify as sluts, than that says more about your issues with women in general than it does about what they wear. You should seek psychiatric help dood, because you have serious mommy issues.

    What strikes me is that neither one of them appear to be feeling very solemn. Which raises the question: Are they happy that his cancer is easily operable, or are they giddy about the fact that the old man is finally getting his comeuppance and dying a miserable death?

    I was thinking the same thing, stage 4 cancer is really bad. You wouldn't think they'd be smiling, unless like you said, the cancer is operable or they're happy to finally get rid of pops.
    Whatever the case, they both look great.

    who knows, sometimes the only way you can deal something that terrible is to smile. One of them could have made a joke about how silly big the giant plant is and that just caused them both to laugh because the need to.

    I'm with you. Besides, there is no point in just being down all the time. Not that I know him, but I am sure their dad would not want that. They could be just letting off steam after an emotionally draining visit.

    with cancer it doesn't happen out of the blue.....they probably have come to terms with it and are trying to be positive.

    It occurs to me that perhaps they are actually arriving at the hospital bearing a gift, not leaving the hospital with a looted plant. That would make more sense, and better accommodate their demeanor.
