    Hoping for the best, but can't help but be concerned when they decided to make Frank a woman. So how shocking is it going to be that a woman dresses in women's clothing and is drooling over a muscular man? As I said, hoping for the best, but when I start to hear things like "a re-imagining" and hear casting info like that I am worried...

    They cast a Transgender person. A person who currently identifies as a woman, but was born a man. I believe she had a sex change, but don't know how far she actually took it (weiner-ectomy?).

    Laverne Cox has definitely undergone a sex change operation quite a while ago. So she is definitely out there as a woman, and any past life is in her past. So my concerns -- Frank N Furter as a woman -- are still as strong as ever. The casting of a transgender woman is actually a little more concerning, in that they might change Frank in some very fundamental way. Frank is a transvestite and a pansexual, but he is most definitely NOT confused about his gender identity.

    Whenever a story is "re-imagined" it turns out to be shit. And besides, what manner of greedy fuck would try to trade on a cult classic? I don't care who they cast, I won't be watching it.

    +1 on that. Considering the success that they have had with "Sound of Music", "The Wiz", "Grease" and to a lesser extent, "Peter Pan", when I first heard about it I assumed they were just going to put on a performance of "The Rocky Horror Show." That would have been cool -- there are some interesting differences between the film version and the play and just putting the play on television and giving people a chance to actually see the original material would have been a cool thing to do.
