  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     The reply seem to stick even if the software says database error. So dont push the send button multiple times friends. Apart from that i have no news on the subject.

    I had that message when posting a picture in the "pictures of the day" thread too, and when I refreshed the page, it wasn't there, but when I posted it again it said "error, duplicate post" even though the original post didn't show up. Then about 5-10 minutes later when it finally showed up after multiple refreshes there was 2 posts, so I had to delete one.

    The tech guys increase the timeout of the sql-connection, they said this should help with the "server gone" error. Please keep reporting issue here, if you see them.

    That sounds like a temporary/palliative measure to me. The "sql connection timeout" they've increased is presumably a default setting or one they've previously tinkered with?
    Hopefully they'll resolve the underlying problem soon.

    first post tonight and I got a database error. I ain't no expert, but I'd think that that after a week of errors, they'd have enough to pinpoint and resolve the problem. :(

    in the server world, the first question you always ask is...

    what changed.

    database chugging along functioning for months, then bam. crap.

    that didnt happen for no reason.

    some dickhead changed something in a live environment without testing virtually first.

    find the change. you find the fuckup.

    then you drop him down a lift shaft. it's the only way to be sure.
