    Asylum studios (on the wall behind her) is notorious for this. They can crank out movies so fast on a tight budget that they can use a similar title to capitalize on the fame of the more popular movie.

    They keep doing it because they make a profit...cheap to make and the home video sales/Sci-Fi network always puts them in the black/profit.
    Blockbuster video used to keep the dvds/vhs taps in the bin next to the cashier...so you would accidentally buy the movie because you glanced at the title thinking it was the other.
