I started watching Search Party, it's surprisingly good. It has a noirish feel to it.

American Dad is really good too.

The Simpsons however, has pretty much turned to pure crap.

I haven't watched a full season of The Simpsons since 2001 or so. From 90-00 it was gold. Now it's just not funny.

Even 2001-2010 was okay, not great, but okay. I can still watch those episodes and have fun. These days I don't even know why I bother watching. They have a few good episodes a year, like the Smithers episode last year was really good, but the rest is pure crap. It's defiantly a writing issue because the plots are still good, they just get completely destroyed by piss poor writing.

As I was watching the latest episode from December, I remember this gag from the older seasons, I think it this is what The Simpsons writers room must look like right now:

When I return to it I will start from the beginning.

People of Earth was entertaining. I thought it might be hokey but it's actually pretty well put together. I look forward to Season 2.

I cut out a giant rant. The shorter version is that they are compromised by writing for The Simpsons in a world where The Simpsons has always existed.

    1. Shameless- How the heck is this show always amazing?

    2. Good Behavior- One of few shows that I look forward to each week

    3. Teen Wolf- Last season was awful but the final season has been amazing (surprising for an MTV show)

    4. Pitch- I'm the opposite of a sports guy but really enjoy this show

    5. This is Us- What a family show should be.

    6. Life in Pieces- What Modern Family should have been

I keep hearing about Lucifer. Is it a cop procedural or does it evolve past that? I'm not into the "every episode there's a new case and that's the focus" type of show.

Hmm. No one mentioned Blindspot. It had an intriguing premise and the initial plots were quite good. But now that season 2 (or whatever they are calling it) the storylines have gotten, to be very blunt, kinda stupid. All the FBI agents are doing very stupid stuff which no real FBI agent would do. Their stupidity then gets them into all kinds of trouble. I will probably stop watching it after another episode.

On the good side, People of Earth, it hilarious. Wyatt Cenac is just right for the role.

Westworld just didn't go anywhere. The plots all seemed artificial and contrived. Hope that it improves in Season 2. I'll give it a watch.

Blindspot started out great, and I really enjoyed it. Then it trended down towards the end of Season 1, becoming painfully predictable. When you find yourself more interested in a background character (the incomparable Ashley Johnson) than the leads, it 'aint good.

Haven't bothered to watch Season 2, but I had a mass clear out of my shows this season. Even more so at Christmas. I'm watching about 3 shows a week total now from the US. Surprising amount of free time. ;)
