Slightly off topic, but tied into one of the many reasons people were protesting, but only HOURS after trump was sworn in, the white house website had removed anything having to do with 'climate change'. We call that a sign of things to come.

 

All references to climate change, civil rights, heathcare and LGBT were removed.

Plans for removing "needless regulations on energy" were advertised instead, along with Melania's QVC jewelry line.

Something that did have to do with the women's march was Madonna giving a profanity-laced speech in front of children and families in Washington DC.



President Donald Trump was sworn in at noon Friday, and within seconds the White House website was completely revamped, replacing the webpage on “climate change” with one that emphasized “vast untapped domestic energy reserves.”

The new “America First Energy Plan” webpage lays out Trump’s plan to boost U.S. energy production. Trump will repeal major Obama-era environmental regulations and open up more federal lands to coal, oil and gas production.

 

What exactly does "needless regulations on energy" mean? The regulations are there for a reason. It's kind of a trial and error thing that the experts have been perfecting over the decades.

It means that when countries like China & India dont follow any energy rules and US does,which is why the regulations are killing our industries whereas manufacturing is thriving in China.What is use of climate agreements when only one country follows it and China then reverses any reduction in emission by growing faster and putting out more emissions.
The US will follow these rules when the UN makes China follow them.

 

I hope they rethink that position. The old plan of using up everyone else's reserves first before we use up our own is far more attractive. Plus it contributes to the lead time necessary to create new and affordable renewable energy supplies that will mitigate the need to tap into our limited carbon based resources. To paraphrase an old saying, "the one with the most power supplies, wins."

 

Well yeah. But they are burning up fuel faster than they can produce it, which is not sustainable. A smart industry will take that simple physics into consideration. And a smart consumer will take that information into account and spend a couple extra bucks on a product that will last exponentially longer.

Americans aren't stupid when it comes to spending. If you can get out the word that spending 10% more money on an American made product will give them a product that will last 3X longer, then we can reverse the whole trend of buying cheap imports that took hold in the 1970s. But this trend has to start at the consumer level, not the corporate level. Americans need to start thinking for themselves again.

 

1.Just because something is manufactured in China does not mean it will last 3X less than same thing manufactured in USA.It really depends on who is manufacturing them.
But a product of same quality manufactured by manual labor in both US and China-the china made product will always cheaper as labor cost is cheaper there.

2.China has no oil resources.It buys everything.It will never run out of resources as it has none in the first place.But it will burn more and more to manufacture more products,sell them at profit,use the money to buy even more oil.Its a vicious circle.

3.Until US uses more automation in factories to manufacture its own product,it cannot win against china.China already has a cheaper labor market and more developed manufacturing industry.In a free market,the US cannot compete with china.

 

It means "we, the wealthy and powerful, will gladly mortgage the health and future of everybody so that we can make a few extra bucks to add to the pile. Thanks for granting us the power to do so, idiots! "

1) Chinese products are for shit because the Chinese government has no standards for product quality. The US government has quality standards for all US manufactured products sold in the USA, but those standards are not applied to imported products (this is an old, old argument going back to the 1950's that you probably don't understand), and as a result we have to put up with shitty imports.

2) If you're the consumer, you don't dictate the supply. You obviously have no idea how supply and demand economics work.

3) Robots will never replace cheap, ignorant, underpaid labor.

The USA, and anyone else, can easily compete against Chinese manufacturing if those consumers are interested in, nee dedicated to, quality products. China manufactures garbage. If consumers don't care then the process will continue. It has nothing to do with competition, it has everything to do with indifference.

Yea! China excels at making crappy products! Woo hoo!
