I do not care for the recent trend to use "x" as a substitute for the word "by." The use of X in 4x4 is used as a preposition, determining an extent, or measurement. Whereas by, as in "by me," is an adverb in the form of a declaration. Just another example of intellectually lazy people dumbing down a language that is full of description and nuance like no other. So ends the lesson and the rant.

 

You are a pretty honest/forward guy, so I bet I get an honest answer, but are you this "anal-retentive" in real life?
It is not even a slam on you, but I never seen someone so anal, picky & demanding.

I grew up in an era when getting an education was valued - even a basic one - and not just something people shrugged their way through as indifferent educators passed their charges along to the next group of indifferent educators. The use of X for "by" is found primarily in two instances, lumber and automotive drivelines. Or where it's used in geometry as an equation to determine area. None of which have anything to do with the creative process. I always wonder how lazy someone has to be to replace a two letter word with a one letter word, and they're not even synonyms. That's just ignorant, and nothing irritates me more than willful ignorance.

And don't even get me started on the word Fabletics. WTF is that supposed to mean?
