experiencing problems with phun.

Is there any prob with the server or sthg?.
In the last few days, I've been experiencing probs to access the forum at some hours. For instance, yesterday I was surfing phun when it became literally impossible to continue. It reached a point at which all I got was a completely blank page, with no error message, nothing at all. I could hit the refresh buttom many times and I closed and opened the browser (firefox 2) several times with no result.
It happened between 18:00 and 21:00 GMT. I didn't try again after 21:00 GMT.

I don't know if the prob is at my end because I can surf the net flawlessly. I didn't get that prob in any other forum or site I visited during 18:00 and 21:00 GMT., even www.phun.org could be accessed with no pain, but the forum was a different thing.

Is there any way I can fix that if the prob is at my end?. Or is just a hopeless issue?.

I had a problem at my end this morning and the same time yesterday. I don't know what "central" time is, but it was pretty much exactly 12 hours ago for me. Nothing loaded, then it finally went ok again.

the forum ist hosted on a different server than phun.org.

 

Yeah just had this problem before i was surfing then all of a suden got 'the page canot be displayed' page, but i could get every other web page i try'd, could it be too much traffic or??

 

there´s a daily downtime at about 8:00am/8:30am GMT due to a scheduled maintanance.

to get rid of other possibly-phun-server-related jams it would be nice if you repoert them with day/time they occured.

to solve any transocean-cable-overloads is beyond phun´s abilities, though

 

Every once in a while (starting on Feb. '07) @ about midnight P.S.T.(pacific standard time) I have the same problem. I have put it down to the server updating, like you pointed out erlier. That seems to be happening at the same time every day. So all I do is move on to something else and come back about 5 minutes later and everything is okay.

I just thaught I'd let you know.

forum.phun.org is in the progress of migrating to a new, more powerful server.

within this progress some issues might occur - missing graphics, a slight "uncommon" appearance of the forum. be patient, it will be worth it

Wouldn't this be a great opportunity to think about enriching the smileys package?.
Nothing to big or heavy, but just a bit spicier to add a touch of humor to the posts.

 

Everything running smoothly since last week. Haven't hit the refresh buttom again since then.
