  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    I've been getting this error occasionally. I think it started when the forum switched to HTTPS. The page usually reloads itself immediately, but I thought I'd report it.

    Much appreciated. You're right about the fact that this error started to occur more often since the switch to https, but we have been trying to off-load this by using a CDN (content delivery network), which (according to the server error logs) did help quite a lot, but it still might be happening from time to time. Please report back if you notice this error frequently.

    I have a question about reporting dead links. A long time ago I read that they should be ignored because "they will fade away" and many posts with dead links get locked. Actually these don't fade away but just junk up search results. Anyway, this thread is full of reports of other posts with dead links. I know moderators have more important things to do than search out and delete the tens of thousands of old posts, but it's being pointed out here in this thread. So what's the policy... Ignore? Report here?
