In England thick means stupid.

Is it a polite way of saying fat, lard-arse, e.t.c.?

It's not supposed to be. Thick is meant to be a way to describe "good weight." It's a more slang form of curvy, which also has been commandeered by 350 pound women who don't want to admit they need to lay off the Big Macs. But used properly, thick and curvy are compliments.

at least the boobies are big right? and i'm sick of the 'thick = 500lbs' stuff too, if a girl's too ashamed to say she weighs more then a dump truck she should try a carrot once in a while.

 

When I say thick ..let's say legs ...I think Lily Allen, not fat like ...Kelly Osbourne. Kristen Bell has got some pretty thick legs, but she isn't overweight at all.

 

Instead of "thick", I use "voluptuous" or "buxom". It's all good! 8)

Nah you're not alone Billy. We use 'thick' to describe stupid knob-ends as well. I've never used it to describe someone's arse.

Ps...Lard-arse is such an under-used word. Great to see it put to use on here.

 

eh, she may be a bit chubby....but I have seen a lot worse. In less clothing even.

And yeah. Thick is the word to use here. It's a black thing. It pretty much means she's has the big curves and carries it pretty well. She's bordering "That's a huge bitch", but that puts her in the league of Rosie O'Donnell or Star Jones. She could stand to lose 20-30 lbs though....

If in england "thick" means nasty , fat , lard... well here in new york "thick" means , that bitch either got a phat ass or a fat camel toe.

 

I'd definately go with chubby over pleseantly "thick" in this case. Pleaseantly thick would make me visualize a Jennifer Love Hewit, Sophia Myles, or the perfect example, Kate Winslet.
