Wow, it's been 37 years since This Movie came out, and she still looks fantastic

The last time we saw her in a white two-piece like this:

I remember her from the Weird Science tv series.

I also remember an interview with Lucy Lawless where she said she that Vanessa was supposed to be cast as Xena but didn't get the part (or had to turn it down). I don't remember the reason tho.

 

Apparently, she was cast as Xena for a three-episode arc in Hercules. She fell ill shortly before production in New Zealand was supposed to start, so she couldn't travel there, and they recast her with Lucy Lawless, who had already been a guest star on the show.
During production of these episodes, the studio asked the producers to pitch a spin-off for Hercules. They thought that Xena, who was originally supposed to die in her arc, was the character with the most potential, so they rewrote this, and developed the spin-off, still with Lawless in the part.
It couldn't have happened with Angel, as she was still on Weird Science at the time.

 

She was great on Weird Science. That was a fun show.

Wow. She looks amazing. I know her primarily from the movie Kingpin which is now 26 years old.

I had totally forgotten about that! I never saw the series, but I remember she was in it. Hard to think a TV show version of the movie would do the movie any justice, since it was an already perfect movie. Every actor chosen for their part was perfect.

 

If you had a body like that at 55 you'd show it off every chance you got too.
